Coventry Uni Lecture – Fred’s Aeronautics

On 15th April 2017, Chris delivered an eagerly-anticipated lecture at Coventry University, entitled Dr Frederick William Lanchester – A Celebration of Genius.

The theme of the talk was Fred’s unsung contribution to British Aeronautics, which was as outstanding in its own right as his contribution to the motor industry.

The event was attended by a remarkably knowledgeable audience, with Chris often put on the spot by searching questions. Happily, his lifetime’s experience of all things Lanchester enabled him to offer insights into the great man’s contributions to a seemingly endless number of walks of life.

Chris would like to offer his thanks to Coventry University for hosting the event, and to attracting a number of young students to whom exposure to Fred’s diversity of scientific contribution must have been a revelation.

If you look carefully at the image on the right, you may also see The Lanchester Series of (currently) three absorbing and informative books.

If you haven’t purchased your copy of the recently-published and magnificent Volume II (yes, it came after Volume III) then be sure to do so soon.

It is currently being “bundled” at no extra charge (except for p&p) with your choice of either Volume I or Volume III.
