Smiths Carburettor parts For Sale
A limited number of brass jets have been made for the 1920s Smiths Carburettor, as fitted to the 21hp Lanchester and other large cars. They are perfect copies and are drilled to suit the original sizes, as far as anyone can tell. Each of the jets is stamped with its size, as per original. Sizes remaining are : 35, 40, 45, 55 and 65.
The charge is £10 each jet and this includes UK postage.

This full-size, wicker-work sculpture
of the 1895 Birmingham-built Lanchester
car, was also built in Birmingham, for the
1995 Chelsea Flower Show - and it won
first prize, of course.
It has since been stored in the dry but
does now need some care and attention.
The various sections of the sculpture do
easily unbolt, including the wheels. It is
mounted on a strong, easily-moveable
frame and can seat four. It is instantly
eye-catching and deserves to be on
display in a museum or private
collection. The original maker of this
wonderful sculpture is willing to do any
renovation work necessary. It is for sale,
only to a good home, for £250. .

Lanchester 40 hp For sale
This fabulous 1924 Lanchester has just
been offered for sale (shown in colour A4 size in The Lanchester Legacy).
This 40 hp Lanchester has the 6-cylinder
engine of 6.2 litres, with dual ignition,
overhead camshaft, cross-flow head and
much more. It is combined with an
epicyclic (not pre-select) gearbox,
Lanchester under-slung worm-gear rear
axle, cantilever suspension and fairly
new, wire-spoked, centre-lock wheels.
The coachwork is by Lanchester and is
of the finest quality, with aluminium
paneling over an ash frame. It is the
only landaulette in existence today.
The interior is finished in best cloth in the
rear with leather for the driver and
passenger. The car has been used on
Lanchester and other rallies, films and
for exclusive weddings. Needless to say
that the car is thoroughly reliable and a
joy to drive.
This 40hp Lanchester is available FOR SALE now for £48,000 and has
an MOT and Tax.
